Exploring the Development Path of Education in Gemmology Based on the Whole Industry Chain

  • Gemmology is a characteristic discipline with interdisciplinary integration. After more than 30 years of development, it has made brilliant achievements, but there are also problems. The existing problems in the teaching of gemmology at present are mainly as follows: the teaching system focuses on the identification link and the teaching of knowledge points, however, the teaching of methods and the guidance of innovative education are insufficient. The industry-university research cooperation is still insufficient. It is difficult to publish scientific papers and teachers' promotion channels are blocked to some extent. Through the comparative research of domestic and foreign universities, the author believes that the whole industry chain teaching of "from gem mining to jewelry market" should be carried out in time, and analyzed the necessity. The teaching of the whole industry chain should mainly focus on the interdisciplinary integration and the teaching content covering the whole industry chain, the combination of industry and education and coordinated development, building reliable collection of experimental specimens and information, and to promote ideological and political education and serve the development needs of the industry.
