Identification Characteristics and Appraisal of Rapid Prototyping Manufactured Jewelry

With the development of the computer designing software and rapid prototyping manufacturing,the technology of jewelry manufacturing has been advanced greatly,which makes the appraisal of jewelry face great challenge.The traditional manufacturing crafts of jewelry include the methods of hand-crafted,lost wax casting,stamping and electroforming.Their identification characteristics and cost valuation are well known to the jewelry appraisers.The principles and process of RP are mainly introduced,and the identification characteristics of RP manufactured jewelry are compared with that of the jewelry by the traditional crafts.The problems are discussed on RP manufactured jewelry appraised with the cost valuation method,such as the design expense,the cost and the wastage ratio from noble metal.
