Splendid Blooming Baoxiang Flowers—a Study on Patterns of Baoxiang Flowers in Tang Dynasty and Its Application in Modern Accessory Design

Chinese classical decorating patterns are artistic heritage and cultural wealth of China and among them Baoxiang flowers are one typical type，so the author adopted this pattern as one Chinese element in modern design.After studying its structure，image，its aesthetic value and its connection to Chinese culture，the author created the modern image and form by extraction，generalization，refinement and innovation，and worked out a series of Baoxiang flowers jewelry.With the help of modern gem mosaic craft and traditional enamel craft，this series of accessories are elegant in shape and brilliant in colour，and featured with Chinese elements.
