Creative Method of Contemporary Jade Carving Art

The phrase "contemporary jade carving art" is novel in nowadays Chinese jade carving industry. The contemporary jade carving art is, in fact, in a state of developing, since the art itself is still under debate. In authors' opinion, the contemporary jade carving art is the art of learning, fusion and innovation. Based on the understanding of contemporary jade carving art, the authors summarized four creative methods in this paper:times as the base, innovation as the rail, art as the direction, and culture as the soul. Using these four creative methods, combined with new jade carving materials and exquisite craft of jade carving, many contemporary jade carving works were demonstrated in this paper, which will boarden the minds for contemporary jade carving art.
