Application of Chinese Ancient Poetry Imagery in Jewelry Design

Poetic imagery is the basis of artistic conception forming and the carrier that conveys the poet's emotion. As the product of art processing, it has unique aesthetic value. In order to enhance the communication power and influence of the excellent traditional Chinese culture, form a recognizable Chinese cultural symbol, and explore the method of transforming the poetic imagery into jewelry language, this paper studied the literature and design cases, the causes of poetry imagery, the formation of implied meaning, and the existing problems in applications. The study revealed the value of the application of poetry imagery in jewelry design, excavated and summarized its artistic features, explored the methods of the application of ancient poetry imagery in jewelry design, and summarized the rules of image selection and combination. And some poems were selected for design practice. Applying ancient poetry imagery to modern jewelry design enriched the cultural connotation of jewelry works. It presents poetry in a new look, thereby awakening the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation.
