Inheritance, Mutual Learning and Breakthrough in the Innovative Creation of Contemporary Jade Carving —From Fan Junmin's Works Broken Jade

In the context of cultural consciousness, contemporary jade carving art, which shoulders the important task of inheriting and disseminating Chinese traditional culture, is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. The current Chinese jade carving art creation is exploring and moving forward in the conflicting and intertwining concepts of ancient and modern China and foreign countries. The new contemporary Chinese jade carving art creators gradually expanded the pattern of diversified development of jade carving in the process of reference and integration, reflecting the profound changes in the current social lifestyle, cultural exchange channels and deep social values. The creators of jade carving began to rethink the function and value of jade and its role and significance in cultural integration, and gradually explored the innovation of artistic concepts and the reconstruction of formal expressions, which also posed new challenges to traditional aesthetics and aesthetic concepts. This paper takes the representative works Broken Jade by Fan Junmin, a Chinese jade carving master, as the starting point, through the interpretation and deconstruction of the creation process of the works and the aesthetic concepts of similar works, and in combination with the development trend of the art exploration of the contemporary jade carving industry, analyzes and discusses the evolution process of Chinese contemporary jade carving art while preserving the national independence and accepting the modernity of globalization. It shows the development and evolution of jade carving art in the evolution of contemporary Chinese society.
