Research on the Factors Affecting the Processing Fee of Pure Gold Jewelry

With the continuous expansion of China's economic aggregate, the domestic pure gold jewelry market develops rapidly, the modern manufacturing technologies emerge in endlessly, and the electroforming technology has changed the single style design of traditional pure gold jewelry, so that it can adapt to the diversified demand of the consumer market. However, appraising the value of pure gold jewelry made by the new manufacturing technology is faced with the prominent problems of inapplicable parameters. Taking the Shenzhen Shuibei market as an example, through in-depth investigations in jewelry factories and jewelry wholesale markets, this study has obtained a large number of relevant information and data on the processing fee of pure gold jewelry with different manufacturing technologies, different styles and different qualities. By means of comparison and statistical analysis, the influencing factors of pure gold jewelry processing fee are explored. The results show that the processing fee of pure gold jewelry are affected by three main factors: the degree of difficulty of the manufacturing technology, the complexity of the style and the quality of the product. Factors such as consumer preference, region, period, and market environment also have some effects on the processing fee of pure gold jewelry. Jewelry processing fee is an important appraising parameter in cost method for appraising the value of jewelry, by means of comparison and statistical analysis, this study gives several criterion for the value of pure gold jewelry processing fee, which provides an important reference for the evaluation of precious metal jewelry in China.
