Identification of Brucite

  • 摘要: 随着珠宝市场的繁荣,高档玉石工艺品的价格越来越高,在促进其投资热潮的同时也增加了其仿冒品混入珠宝市场的几率。水镁石多用于Mg原料制备或其它工业材料中。在最近的日常检测工作中发现了水镁石仿寿山石与和田玉的工艺品。采用常规宝石学手段、傅里叶变换红外光谱仪、能量色散X射线荧光光谱仪分别对水镁石、软玉和玻璃样品进行了测试与分析。结果表明,水镁石的红外光谱特征对其鉴定具有诊断性意义,可与软玉、玻璃以及地开石和/或珍珠石型、叶蜡石型寿山石的相区别;借助红外光谱分析,初步推断了水镁石和软玉中次要的碳酸盐矿物。
    Abstract: With the development of the jewelry market in China,the value of high-class jade craftwork is continuously rising,which could promote investment and also increase the probability for more imitations of highclass jade interfused to the market.Brucite is usually used for Mg element or other industrial materials.Lately,the brucite being imitations of larderite and nephrite products is examined by the author.The samples of brucite,nephrite and glass are studied by means of conventional gemmological testing,FTIR and EDXRF.The results show that it is diagnostic significance for identifying the brucite by IR spectrum characteristics,which could distinguish the brucite from the nerphrite,glass and larderite with dickite or/and nacrite and pyrophyllite as main compositions.The minor carbonate mineral in brucite and nephrite samples could be primarily concluded in virtue of IR spectrum anaylsis.
