Heat-Treatment of Aquamarine and Characteristics of Its Inclusions

  • 摘要: 对我国新疆阿尔泰地区的海蓝宝石进行了热处理改色研究,对热处理前、后包裹体的特征进行了对比,为海蓝宝石的优化处理和鉴别提供了理论依据。实验结果表明,海蓝宝石优化热处理工艺直接影响包裹体的形态特征。在还原性气氛下热处理可使淡黄绿色海蓝宝石转变为理想的海蓝色,但同时也产生了不希望存在的黑色色斑。通过电子探针分析,黑色色斑成分为碳,推测它是由晶体中管状包裹体或气液包裹体中CO分解形成的。
    Abstract: Heat-treatment of aquamarines from Altay, Xinjiang, has been studied. The shapes of the inclusions in the aquamarine before heat treatment are compared with the ones after heat treatment and the results provide the theoretic bases of enhancement and identification of aquamarines. The research shows that heat-treatment affects the shapes of inclusions. Though the light yellowish green of aquamarine will change into aquamarine-blue under a reduced atomosphere, followed by dark flecks. By means of electron probe, it is further proved that the black flecks are carbon which formed by decomposation of CO in fluid inclusion in aquamarine.
