Application of Borax in Jewelry Cutting and Making

摘要: 硼砂是一种用途极广的工业矿物。在分析硼砂的差热分析曲线和脱水曲线的基础上，对其在珠宝首饰加工领域中的应用进行了初步研究。结果表明，硼砂在钻石加工中起防止钻石氧化的作用，在首饰焊接中起助焊剂的作用，在贵金属冶炼中则起造渣的作用。

Abstract: Borax is an extremely useful industrial mineral. By analyzing the differential thermal analysis graph and dehydration graph of borax, the application of borax in diamond cutting and jewelry making field is studied. As the consequences show, borax can protect diamond from oxidizing in the process of cutting; in the process of jewelry welding it can make precious metal weld better; and in the process of precious metal smelting it can make low-priced metals separate from precious metals to become into molten slag.
