Abstract: Yichang agate with abundant resources has a long history. It deposited in the gravel layer in the lower Pleistocene, Quaternary (Q₁). Yichang agate is characterized by multicolour, complicated shape and a great variety. The main varieties, such as sardonyx and landscape agate, are possessed of commerical value.
