Gemmological Study on Cr-Bearing Edenite

摘要: 含Cr浅闪石呈翠绿色,半透明—透明,硬度较高,玻璃光泽,晶体完好,单个晶体较大,可用作宝石材料,外观极像祖母绿。在前人的矿物学研究的基础上,采用紫外-可见光吸收光谱以及常规宝石学检测技术对含Cr浅闪石进行了较系统的宝石学研究,并对其致色机理进行了初步分析,认为含Cr浅闪石的翠绿色是由晶格中的Cr3+产生的。Abstract: Cr-bearing edenite, just like emerald, is emerald-green, translucent to transparent, with high hardness, vitreous luster, well-formed crystal, and its single crystal size is large. The gemmological characteristics of Cr-bearing edenite are studied systematically by using UV-VIS absorption spectrum and routine gemmological techniques.In addition, the colouration mechanism is probed.It is proposed that Cr3+ in the crystal lattice results in the green colour.
