Impact of Scattering on Colour Brilliance of Sapphire from Shandong Provine

摘要: 研究表明,深色山东蓝宝石内存在大量微细包裹体。用光学理论分析表明,蓝宝石包裹体对光的散射作用使宝石的透射光和内反射光强度减弱,从而降低了宝石的透明度和颜色明度。经热处理的山东蓝宝石中微裂隙更为发育,这些结构类微细包裹体对光的散射作用可能是山东蓝宝石热处理效果不佳的原因之一。Abstract: Some researches show that there are plentiful micro-inclusions in dark colour sapphires from Shandong Province. Through optical analysis, it indicates that scattering of micro-inclusions in the sapphire to light reduces the intensities of transmitted and internal reflected light, resulting in decreasing in transparency and brilliance of colour. In heat treated Shandong sapphires, the micro-crackes are more devoloped, and scattering of structural micro-inclusions to light are probably one of reasons why heat treatment on Shandong sapphire is not effecient.
