Study on Artificial Epidermis of Serpentine Jade

摘要: 采用宝石学常规测试、X射线粉末衍射、电子探针和红外光谱等分析手段对近期珠宝市场上出现的一种蛇纹石玉雕件的假皮的宝石学特征、成分、结构及制作方法进行了研究。结果表明,该假皮是通过对蛇纹石玉表面进行酸洗、染色、浸蜡处理而得到。其结构疏松,裂隙发育,裂隙中颜色较深,但主要组成矿物仍为叶蛇纹石。Abstract: The yellow artificial epidermis of a serpentine jade appeared in the recent gem market is studied in this paper.The gemmological characteristics,chemical and mineral compositions, structure and processing of the artificial epidermis are researched by using conventional gemmological testing, X-ray powder diffraction,electronic probe and infrared spectrum.The results show that the artificial epidermis is treated by acid washing,dyeing and filling,whose structure is loose and the colour is deeper in the crack.The main mineral of the artificial epidermis is antigorite.
