Analysis on Trace Element of Ruby from Ailao Mountain,Yunnan Province

  • 摘要: 红宝石的主要化学成分是Al2O3,并含有Fe,Cr,Ti,Mn,Si,Mg,Ca,Na,K等,这些微量元素质量分数的差异往往导致红宝石颜色的深浅变化。为了探讨云南哀牢山红宝石的颜色成因,收集了8类不同色调的原石标本,采用紫外-可见光分光光度计、电子探针和ICP-MS对其微量元素及化学成分进行了较深入的研究,围绕缅甸孟宿、泰国、中国云南及越南安培4个产地红宝石的微量元素特征展开对比分析与讨论,总结了云南哀牢山红宝石样品的化学成分特征:云南哀牢山红宝石富Cr贫Fe,Cr质量分数的高低直接导致其红色调深浅的变化。
    Abstract: The main chemical composition of ruby is Al2O3,and with the trace elements of Fe,Cr,Ti,Mn,Si,Mg,Ca,Na, K and so on.The different contents of the trace elements result in the differences in the colours of rubies.In order to research the causes of colour of ruby from Ailao Mountain,Yunnan Province,8 pieces of ruby rough samples with different colours collected are tested by means of ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer,electron microprobe and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS).The trace elements and chemical compositions of the samples are studied.The characteristics of trace elements of rubies from four localities——Mong Hsu of Burma,Thailand,Yunnan Provice of China,and Yen Bai of Vietnam——are analysed and discussed.The chemical composition characteristics of the ruby samples from Ailao Mountain,Yunnan Province,are summarized.The rubies from Yunnan Province are rich in Cr and poor in Fe,and the content of Cr results in the changes of the shades of red hue directly.
