Gemmological Characteristic of the Northern Pearl of China

摘要: 以三角帆蚌为育珠蚌,产于辽宁的中国北方珍珠为研究对象,采用静水称重法、X射线粉末衍射仪、傅里叶变换红外光谱仪、扫描电子显微镜等仪器测试方法,探究中国北方珍珠的物相组成和内部结构。中国北方珍珠相对密度范围为2.722 1~2.733 5,主要矿物组成为文石,并含有蛋白质;内部结构为叠瓦状结构,且文石层厚度沿半径方向由心部向边部逐渐变薄,北方珍珠的文石层厚薄差为170 nm。Abstract: Hyriopsis cumingii is chosen as the pearly mussel. The gemmological characteristics of the northern pearl produced from Liaoning Province of China were investigated, with the help of hydrostatic weighing method, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. The testing results show that the relative density of the northern pearl of China is from 2.722 1-2.733 5. The mineral components of the northern pearl of China are aragonite and protein. The structure of the northern pearl of China is characterized as a form of “brick wall”. The thickness between aragonite layers of the northern pearl of China is 170 nm.
