Dyed and Filled Sillimanite as Ruby Imitation

摘要: 日前在一批据客户送检称来自克什米尔的弧面形红宝石样品中发现一粒染色充填处理的矽线石，经常规仪器测试知，该样品的折射率为1.65（点测），紫外荧光灯短波下发橙黄色荧光，长波下发红色荧光；宝石显微镜下，样品的局部表面光泽较弱，内部可见纤维状结构和少量气泡，底部可见一组解理。红外光谱测试结果显示为典型的矽线石。综合测试结果显示为染色充填处理的矽线石，此类样品在区分红宝石样品检测过程中应引起重视。

Abstract: Recently, some samples claimed to be rubies from Kashmir were sent to testing center.However,there was a sillimanite sample,which was dyed and filled.The refractive index of the sample is 1.65.Under ultraviolet fluorescent lamp,the sample shows orange by SW,and red by LW.By gem microscope,the local gloss of surface is quite weak and interior shows fibrous structure and a small amount of bubbles.A group of cleavage can be seen at the bottom of the sample.The infrared spectrum result shows the sample is sillimanite.The dyed and filled sillimanite deserves attention in routing inspection.
