3D Printing in Art Jewelry

摘要: 针对前沿制造技术——3D打印，介绍该技术在艺术首饰领域的应用现状与前景，重点分析和归纳了首饰艺术家使用3D打印技术的创作方法。本文以案例分析为主要研究方法，结合当代艺术创作理论与艺术家访谈，提出3D打印及CAD技术在艺术首饰领域的两种不同创作思路的应用方式：技术的视觉特征转化为形式语言与技术作为传统工艺的替代手段。探讨了主流人机交互界面对该技术作为设计艺术工具的不利影响，并介绍了相关的研究进展。3D打印结合CAD技术已经重新定义了“手工艺”，随着技术的不断发展，它将成为更加实用的艺术首饰创作手段。

Abstract: Based on author's experiences of using 3D printing,this paper addresses 3D printing technology and its impacts on contemporary art jewelry.The case study shows two application methods of this technology:developing its idiosyncrasies as formal elements,and employing CAD/3D printing as an alternative tool to traditional methods.The drawback of the graphic user interface(GUI)for craft practices,a problem related to CAD,is also discussed. CAD/3D printing has redefined the notion of "handcraft",and the constructive interaction between technology and art will promote CAD/3D printing as a more practical means for jewelry artists.
