Gemmological Characteristics of “Taishan” Jade

摘要: 目前,“泰山玉”是玉石市场上出现的一个“新品种”。对一批“泰山玉”样品进行了常规宝石学测试、偏光显微镜薄片观察、红外光谱等测试与分析。结果表明,大多数“泰山玉”样品的主要矿物组成为蛇纹石,依据现行的国家标准,其鉴定名称可命名为“岫玉”或“蛇纹石玉”。其中,以透闪石为主要矿物组成的“泰山玉”还有待进一步确认与研究。“泰山玉”中Cr,Fe,Ni的质量分数较高,这是区别辽宁岫玉的重要特征之一。泰山文化与传统玉石文化相结合,是“泰山玉”的良好开发方向。Abstract: Recently,"Taishan" jade is a new kind of product in the jade market.The "Tai-shan" jade samples are studied by using the conventional gemmological methods,polarizing microscope,infrared spectrometer.The results show that the main mineral component of "Taishan" jade is serpentine.According to the national standards,the "Taishan" jade should be named "Xiu Yu" or "serpentine".The "Taishan" jade with tremolite need be verified and studied further.The "Taishan" jade is of high content of Cr,Fe and Ni,which could be different from that of "Xiu Yu" from Liaoning province.There is a good developing prospect for the jade combining the Chinese "Taishan" culture and jade traditional culture.
