  • The different properties of colouring ions in natural and synthetic beryl gemstones and their gemmological characters are summed up. The distinction between the hydrothermal and natural beryl gemstones is that the former has water molecule absorption in the range of 3200 ~4200cm-1 and diagnostic inclusions are pointed out.
