Study on Gemmological and Mineralogical Characteristics of Three Kinds of Qingtian Stone from Zhejiang Province

  • Shanpaolv "Lanhuading" "Jiabandong" samples, which are the typical varieties of Qingtian stone, are studied by using the microscopic analysis, electron microprobe analysis, X-ray powder diffraction analysis and IR spectroscopy.The results show that the major mineral component of "Shanpaolv" sample is muscovite and the secondary mineral component is quartz. "Lanhuading" sample is mainly composed of pyrophyllite and corundum.The major mineral component of "Jiabandong" sample is muscovite and it also contains quartz, albite, paragonite and a small amount of hematite.Moreover, the colour genesis of Qingtian stone is studied in this paper.
