  • Received Date: July 24, 2012
  • In this paper, energy dispersive and wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer(EDXRF,WDXRF)are used for non-destructive quantitative testing for gold content of“gold inlaid jade”.And metallurgical microscope and scanning electron microscope(SEM)are used for the thickness of the gold layer after being separated from its jade base and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)are also used for semi-quantitative analysis of the gold content of the gold layer.Experiment results show that the so-called“gold inlaid jade”is actually aplastic embryo wrapped in 0.02—0.03mm pure gold which is glued to the jade with colloid. The authors study on processing technology and testing methods of“gold inlaid jade”and give constructive suggestions on scientific naming of this product in order to avoid more consumer disputes resulted from incorrect naming.
