  • Emerald,as one of the five precious stones, has a long history and is loved by many people for centuries.In recent years, with the hot of coloured gemstones, the market of emerald is going to be more and more popular.The auction price of emerald has been refreshed constantly.In order to analyze the auction market of high-end emerald in Greater China,the authors collected and tabulated the auction data of emerald from Sotheby’s (Hong Kong) and Christie’s (Hong Kong) during the period of 2012 to 2017.Research results showed that the average auction price of the emerald was steady while the price of the high-end emeralds rose sharply from 2012 to 2017.For emeralds, the weight and origin have obvious effects on the auction price.In this paper, through the collection and collation of the emerald auction data, the market situation could be known by practitioners of domestic investors and the future market also could be pre-judged by the high-end emerald auction market.
