Gemmological Characteristics of "Zilongjing" and "Lvlongjing"

The gemmological name of "Zilongjing" is charoite.The gemstone product called "Lvlongjing", whose structure is similar to that of the "Zilongjing" in the jewelry market at present, is sold as "Zilongjing" by many dealers.For differentiating the "Lvlongjing" from "Zilongjing", both samples are studied by using the conventional gemmological methods, FTIR and XRD.The results show that there are similar characteristics such as structure, density and refractive index, and different in colour and hardness between the both.The main mineral components of "Zilongjing" and "Lvlongjing" are respectively charoite and chlorite, which are not the same gemstones.
