  • The name “Lüsongshi” was used in the Qing Dynasty originally, though turquoise has been utilized as ornamental jade for thousands of years in China．How it was named in ancient times attracts people’s great attention．It is known that the most famous turquoise locality in China is in Xiangyang, Hubei Province．The archaeological materials show that turquoise has been distributed over fifteen provinces or areas in China only in prehistoric culture sites．T urquoise as a cultural carrier offers a great amount of information on disseminating the Central Plain culture all around．
