  • Epidote has the colours of yellowish-green,blackish-green or black,reflective index of 1.741~1.774,specific gravity of 3.34~3.49g/ cm3. Most of crystals are semi- transparent to transparent. Crystal of epidote is prismatic and longitudinal lines developed on crystal faces. Its colour is related to Fe content.Its infrared spectrum has absorption peak of water.Mean- while,there are many two- phase inclusions,liquid inclusions and cracks in crystals.
