  • Gemmological and mineralogical characteristics of the chicken-blood stone of alunite and quartz“Di”from Changhua are studied by using conventional gemmological methods, polarization-reflection microscope, IR, XRD, XRF.The results show that the“Di”of the chicken-blood stone is mainly composed of alunite and quartz with minor amounts of pyrite and specularite, without dickite and kaolinite.X-ray fluorescence spectrometer shows that the sample contains a certain amount of Sr and Ba.Thus it can be inferred that the sample may contain lapis lazuli-barite isomorphism.
