STUDY ON APOPHYLLITE GEM MINERAL FROM LIYANG, JIANGSHU PROVINCE

  • A pophyllite gem mineral from Liyang,Jiangshu Province, was discovered in 80's. There are numerous reports about it, but systematical reports are still scarce. This paper systematically sumarizes its geological occurence and the studies on it in room. The research indicates that Liyang apophyllite forms multiperiodically and the temperature at which the gem-quality apophyllite forms is much higher. The apophyllite with vivid colour and large size can be used as gem material. The apophyllite crystal druse can be used as ornamental gems.
