Abstract
By using the conventional gemmological testing methods, polarizing microscope and LA-ICP-MS, the nephrite samples from Liyang, Jiangsu Province, are studied and compared with the Liangzhu culture nephrite jade artifact samples excavated from the Zhuang-qiaofen Site, Zhejiang Province. The results show that the main mineral component of the nephrite samples from Liyang and the jade artifact samples excavated from the Zhuangqiaofen Site is tremolite. The FeOT content in the jade artifact samples excavated from the Zhuang-qiaofen Site is obviously higher than that in the nephrite samples from Liyang. The δEu content in the jade artifact samples excavated from the Zhuangqiaofen Site is universally higher than that in the nephrite samples from Liyang, whose δEu has an obvious anomaly and is light REE depleted, with many kinds of trace elements. The content of light REE in the nephrite samples from Liyang is enriched and δEu has an obviously anomaly, with a few of trace element, indicating that the samples from two places could not be from the same locality or the same origin. The chemical compositions of the jade artifact samples excavated from the Zhuangqiaofen Site are different from that of the nephrite samples from Liyang, which has the different point of view that the Liangzhu culture jade artifact is from nephrite of Liyang, Jiangsu Province, in today's archaeological circles.
