  • Pink diamond attracts much market concern and it is increasingly popular as an important type of coloured diamonds in recent years.In order to analyze the influence factors of price of pink diamond,the authors collected and tabulated the worldwide auction data of pink diamonds from Sotheby's and Christie's during the period of 1998 to 2012.Research results show that pink diamonds with different colour grades could be sold at significantly different prices.Saturation and brightness affect the price of pink diamond greatly,and the price could be reduced by all kinds of modifying colours.Prices per carat trend to be in proportion to the carat weight of pink diamonds on the whole,but they are not simply linear relationship.Other factors such as clarity grade,predigree(brand,designer,history and so on)and diamond type(typeⅡa or not)would affect the price of pink diamond partly.
