Abstract
Integrating ideological and political education into disciplinary and professional teaching is a key approach to cultivate talents with both moral integrity and professional competence. Deeply exploring the ideological and political connotations embedded in gemstone and jade culture, and integrating them into the jewelry courses, not only aligns with the core requirements of ideological and political education in the new era but also promotes innovation in jewelry-related disciplines. Guided by the core concept of "harmony in diversity, beauty in common", this study identified and refined the ideological and political elements in the Aesthetics of Gemstones and Jade course, discussed integration methods, and analyzed practical cases, providing theoretical and practical guidance for ideological and political education in this course and similar specialized courses. Research and practice showed that the course can incorporate multidimensional ideological and political elements such as cultural essence, humanistic philosophy, professional ethics, cultural inclusiveness, and social responsibility. furthermore, the course's ideological and political framework has been established through multicultural appreciation of gemstone aesthetics, integrating of ideological and political education into industry-academia collaborations, values shaping in practical teaching, and reforming of teaching evaluations.
