Abstract
With the growing societal emphasis on mental health, art therapy has gained significant research attention as an effective psychotherapeutic approach. However, among the diverse applications of art therapy, exploration in the field of jewelry design remains relatively limited and lacks a systematic research framework. To address this gap, this study systematically investigates the application of art therapy in jewelry design by analyzing domestic and international literature from the past decade. It traces the conceptual origins and developmental trajectory of art therapy, reviews its current applications in product design, and identifies 4 key dimensions through which art therapy can be integrated into design practices. Building on this foundation, the study focuses on 3 methodological approaches and 2 emerging trends, delving into specific strategies for applying art therapy principles to jewelry design. The study proposes an innovative interdisciplinary design methodology that emphasizes emotional resonance, aiming to advance future jewelry design practices. By bridging theoretical insights with practical applications, this work not only enriches the discourse on art therapy but also offers actionable guidance for creating mental health-oriented jewelry, thereby fostering the social value of healing through adornment.
