Study on Gemmological Characteristics of Imitation of Malachite

摘要: 采用宝石显微镜、偏光显微镜、X射线粉末衍射仪和傅里叶变换红外光谱仪等仪器对近期北京珠宝市场上出现的一种仿孔雀石材料样品进行了常规宝石学、矿物学、谱学特征研究。结果表明,该仿孔雀石材料的主要成分为由环氧树脂胶结的重晶石粉以及以石英或方解石为次要成分的混合物。与天然孔雀石的主要鉴别特征为:前者的相对密度较小,表面可见气泡断面和特征的红外光谱。Abstract: By using gem microscope,polarizing microscope,X-ray powder diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,the gemmological,mineralogical and spectral characteristics of the imitation samples of malachite appeared in the Beijing jewelry market are studied.The results show that the imitation samples are mainly composed of barite and subordinate mineral of quartz or calcite,which are cemented by epoxy resin.The identification characteristics between the natural malachite and its imitaion are the lower relative density,hollows on the surface and infrared spectra.
