A Preliminary Research on Interdisciplinary Training of Jewelry Design Talent in College and University

  • As a branch of art design, the talent training of jewelry design gradually shows a trend of interdisciplinary development. Specifically, the multiple attributes of jewelry are fully highlighted, and jewelry design research is closely related across disciplines. This paper introduces the origin and essence of the interdisciplinary integration of jewelry design. Through the statistical analysis of the relevant literature in CNKI database from 1983 to 2019, the interdisciplinary integration of jewelry design research is discussed, and it is demonstrated that jewelry design research is showing the trend of interdisciplinary development. Combined with the actual situation, the authors analyzed the motivation of the interdisciplinary development of jewelry design talents that lies in the change of jewelry users' demands, the gradual transformation of jewelry market operation mechanism, and the continuous optimization of education environment. Moreover, three key issues were put forward to be considered in the interdisciplinary training of jewelry design talents in colleges and universities. The issues are: reasonable distribution of education resources, differentiated education for individuals and groups, and unified development of academic study and occupation. In order to obtain more scientific and effective training for jewelry design talents in the future, the following strategic suggestions are proposed: first, reasonably developing interdisciplinary training materials; second, scientifically setting up interdisciplinary training curriculum system; third, gradually improving interdisciplinary faculty; fourth, innovating and building interdisciplinary research platform.
