Application of ZBrush in Computer Jewelry Design

  • As a digital software that truly imitates the manual sculpture, the ZBrush has been gradually applied to the 3D modeling in all sectors.The authors summarized the modeling features of the software, and then made use of the jewelry made by the software to carry out empirical analysis and concluded its advantages in applying to the computer jewelry design.Firstly, ZBrush is compatible with the first-version software like JewelCAD, Rhino, etc.Secondly, it's professional and convenient to sculpture the jewelry, such as flowers, birds, fishes, insects, animals and plants.Thirdly, it is able to shape the real and natural surface texture of specific metals.Besides, it can combine the 3D metal printing and the CNC carved technology to make the version for the jewelry.Additionly, it can also complete the reversed engineering of computer jewelry modeling by combining 3D scanning technology.The authors also outlined the detailed elements that should be considered in the application of ZBrush into the jewelry modeling.
