Abstract:
The surface microtopography of
Corallium elatius sample by decalcification is studied by using the scanning electron microscope(SEM),whose characteristics are observed, and the arrangement model and size of the calcite crystal are analysed. The results show that the protuberances distributed on the "ridge-trough"structure are formed by spiral accumulation of calcite from the external surface of the
Corallium elatius samples from longitudinal section. The cross sections of the
Corallium elatius samples are distributed by numerous calcite crystal being spiral growth surrounding the different axis centers.Through the multi-level organic matrix mesh in the bone particles,it indicates that the mineral phase is related to the organic matrix in
Corallium elatius.
