Abstract: In Chinese modern jewelry design,selection of design elements and jewelry semantic representation require a depth of taste and comprehension of Chinese traditional culture.Concrete shape,material,colour and technology of jewelry can show traditional elements and "Chinese style".By using Chinese traditional culture as the carrier,the national symbols and patterns as specific forms,designer can research and study the essence of Chinese civilization,explore and promote the taste of "Chinese style".Modern jewelry design also requires modern aesthetic ideas and way of thinking to treat design elements,modern jewelry production technology and jewelry design language to reconstruct specific design.With creative thinking,the author designed a work with Chinese characteristics by using the elements of "Ding".The Chinese elements can enrich both jewelry design ideas and cultural connotation of jewelry products.And those jewelry products can carry forward the traditional culture and also increase their features and cultural value.
