合成及改色钻石的鉴定特征

Identification Characteristics of Synthetic and Colour-altered Diamonds

  • 摘要: 近年来,多批未经揭示的高质量合成及改色钻石进入钻石市场,不仅欺骗了消费者,同时给鉴定机构带来了很大的挑战。为此,笔者对从某公司购得的一批合成及改色钻石进行了详细观察测试,包括放大观察,发光现象及光谱特征测试等。研究结果显示,化学气相沉淀法(CVD)合成钻石均近于无色,高压高温(HPHT)合成钻石均呈黄色,两者净度级别均较高,经辐照处理后钻石样品呈蓝色,但净度差;CVD合成钻石的紫外-可见吸收光谱没有显示明显特征吸收峰,辐照处理钻石显示GR1辐照损伤心;在DiamondViewTM下,合成钻石样品可见蓝色荧光和层状生长纹。用常规的鉴定方法难以将合成和天然钻石区分,需要结合紫外-可见吸收光谱,DiamondViewTM下的荧光图像等特征才能准确鉴别。

     

    Abstract: Recently,high-quality synthetic diamonds without revealing,as well as colour-altered diamonds,have entered into the market,which is very deceptive to consumers and brings great challenges to appraisal agencies.Therefore,the author carried a batch of diamonds through synthetizing and processing from a company on the detailed analysis of the tests,including magnification,luminous phenomena and spectral characteristics.Research results show that CVD synthetic diamonds and natural diamonds are almost colourless,and HPHT synthetic diamonds are yellow,with high clarity.The diamonds after irradiation treatment are blue,but their clarity is poor.Ultraviolet-visible spectra of CVD synthetic diamonds do not show any obvious characteristic absorption peaks,but ultraviolet-visible spectra of diamonds after irradiation processing display GR1radiation damage center.By the DiamondViewTMand the cathode luminescent instrument,blue fluorescence and lamellar growth structure are visible.It is difficult to classify the synthetic and natural diamonds by conventional identification methods.The characteristics of ultraviolet-visible spectra and fluorescence images under DiamondViewTMshould be combined to identify synthetic and natural diamonds.
