Abstract:
Due to the environmental protection, corrosion resistance, high hardness, high stability, and affordable price, nowadays stainless steel jewelry gets the favor of the fashion jewelry market. Nevertheless, its lack of domestic market development, shortage of original design and homogenization of current products are the main issues that stainless steel jewelry are facing in China. In this paper, transformable structures in stainless steel jewelry were used as breakthrough points in analyzing the current status of such jewelry design and correlated existing problems. Stainless steel jewelry design innovation was discussed from the following three aspects:(1) the development of a series of derivatives with extended permutation and combination products, (2) incorperating Chinese elements into stainless steel products; (3) diversification in material selection and matching. Hopefully, this papers can provide some reference for future innovation in stainless steel jewelry design.
