Abstract:
Based on the experimental studies on characteristics of the bleached,alkali-acid corroded, wax and macromolecule polymer-filled jadeite jade, the infrared absorption spectra of wax and macromolecule polymer-filled jadeite jade are studied by using Fourier transform infrared spectrometry. The results indicate that the relative absorptance(R
a) of the infrared absorption band and half apex-breadth area(S
a) are closely associated with the absorption of CH
2 and CH
3 in wax and macromolecule polymer, and usually can give enough evidence for scale determination of enhancement or treatment of jadeite jade,namely:1/4<R
a≤2/4,S
a≤15(dispensing with label) and 2/4<R
a≤3/4,15<S
a≤30(enhancement) and 3/4<R
a≤4/4,30<S
a(treatment). The essence and attribute of the bleached waxed jadeite jade and alkali-acid corroded filled jadeite jade are analyzed primarily in the paper.
