Abstract:
Abstract Jadeite jade mainly consists of jadeite (NaAlSi
2O
6), which occurs as mineral aggregate. Besides the jadeite, there are some other clinopytoxene minerals in the jade, such as chromian jadeite , diopsidic jadeite, ureyitic jadeite, omphacite, ureyitic omphacite, diopsidic ureyite, jadeitic ureyite, ureyite, diopside, jadeitic clinoenstatite, diopsidic clinoenstatite, aegirine-augite and aegirine etc.. Only jade which contains more than 50 mol % of jadeite component (NaAlSi
2O
6) could be called a jadeite jade. A jade which mainly composed of other clinopyroxene minerals should be called aegirine jade, aegirine- augite jade, omphacite jade, diopside jade, ureyite jade, diopside-jadeite jade and diopside-ureyite jade, res pectively.
