Identification Characteristics of Undisclosed CVD Synthetic Diamonds Found Recently by NGTC

  • 摘要: 2012年以来,国家珠宝玉石质量监督检验中心(NGTC)先后在送检的裸石和镶嵌钻石饰品中遇到未经揭示的CVD合成钻石。为了更好地了解这些新出现的CVD合成钻石的特征,NGTC实验室对接受送检中发现的所有未经揭示的样品进行了详细的分析测试。测试结果表明,这些合成钻石均呈近无色的Ⅱa型,光致发光光谱(Photoluminescence)中可见737nm发光线,钻石观测仪(DiamondViewTM)下可见蓝绿色荧光、蓝色磷光以及CVD合成钻石典型的层状生长纹理特征。因此,仅用常规的鉴定方法很难将CVD合成钻石与天然钻石区分,但结合光致发光光谱特征和钻石观测仪荧光图像特征,可以准确地鉴定这类CVD合成钻石。

     

    Abstract: Early in 2012,NGTC labs in Shenzhen and Beijing investigated some naked and embedded diamonds which included some undisclosed CVD synthetic diamonds.It was found that these gemquality CVD synthetic diamonds are difficult to distinguish from natural diamonds by normal microscopic observation.However,they can be effectively identified with the help of some advanced analytical techniques,such as PL(Photoluminescence)and DiamondViewTM.The experiments show that the line at 737nm in the PL spectrum and the bluish green fluorescence,the blue phosphorescence together with characteristics of multi-layered structure in DiamondViewTMare the characteristics of these CVD synthetic diamonds.
