Abstract:
Maker education is very important in the process of cultivating innovative talents in colleges. By combining the maker education model of "learning through creation" with jewelry design and jewelry additive manufacturing, the authors practiced a new teaching method and further explored the application of flexible structures in 3D printed jewelry production of different styles. During teaching, students designed creative 3D printed metal flexible structures based on different styles and themes of jewelry, the making process reflects the practical, open and integrated philosophy of maker education, which stimulates students' innovative thinking and consciousness and improves their innovation ability. This practice has proved the advantages of 3D printing technology in creative teaching and the importance of maker education in jewelry design teaching, but it also reflects the problems in the application of maker education. Finally, this article proposes some corresponding suggestions to solve these problems.
