Abstract:
Cultivating high-level gemmological talents with an international perspective is an important task of gemmological education.This article takes the relevant data and cases of postgraduates majoring in gemmology in China University of Geosciences(Wuhan)in 2021 CSC programe combined with the questionnaire survey results of 60 gemmology graduate students, summarizes the experience and existing problems in the international development of gemmology graduate education. The survey results show that graduate students have a strong willingness to participate in international exchanges, which is obviously influenced by their mentors and peers. The experience of international academic exchange has enabled postgraduates to broaden their academic horizons, know foreign academic experts, and feel the foreign academic atmosphere. Due to COVID-19, graduate students have put forward new demands for the current international education. According to the survey results, in the face of the great challenges brought by the epidemic to international exchanges, we should make preparations for long-term response to changes in the external environment. Offering online international courses and holding online international academic conferences as a platform for international cooperation, making relevant preparations for graduate students to better participate in online courses and international conferences, and encouraging graduate students to conduct more extensive and in-depth international educational exchanges.
