Abstract:
The development of diamond growing technology and the gradual regulation and unification of terminology provide foundations for the application of laboratory-grown diamond in the field of jewelry. By studying and sorting out international laboratory-grown diamond brand building situation, this paper analyzes the development of the global laboratory-grown diamond market, and summarizes the different value propositions of international laboratory-grown diamond brands, which roughly include five directions: (1) The optical, physical and chemical properties of laboratory-grown diamond are the same as natural diamond; (2) Laboratory-grown diamond is cost-effective and affordable for consumers; (3) Laboratory-grown diamond products could be unique in design, fashion and entry lux; (4) Laboratory-grown diamond is a responsible product with traceable and sustainable supply chain; (5)Laboratory-grown diamond could commemorate special moments. In addition, this paper makes a case study of influential brands in international laboratory-grown diamond market, and points out that successful brand not only needs to anchoring clear value propositions but also needs to focus on the target customer group and carry out effective customer relationship management and operation. Through the summary of brand value propositions and specific case analysis, it is pointed out that advocating and practicing sustainable development will become an important trend in the development of laboratory-grown diamond market in the future. Chinese enterprises could refer to the operation practice of international laboratory-grown diamond brands and explore brand operation strategies in line with domestic conditions and consumption trends.
