Abstract: Under the multi-cultural background and the continuous social change, people's aesthetic mind set is imperceptibly changing as well. As a kind of "conventional" jewelry material, Nanhong agate has once again entered the market and people's life. Because of the rare and limited investigation of Nanhong agate in modern jewelry design and application, this paper analyzed the social context, current situation and existing problems of Nanhon agate jewelry design, as well as its innovative application in modern jewelry design. This paper also explored the innovative application of Nanhong agate in modern jewelry design, in order to express the cultural significance and value of it.
