Abstract: “The Belt and Road” initiative brings opportunities for the upgrading and development of Nanyang gem and jade industry in Henan Province, which has a great significance to the development of it. The papers show the relationship between Nanyang area and “The Belt and Road”, and analyzes the distribution of Nanyang gem and jade resources, practitioners, festival celebration activity and industry layout, with the aim of finding out the status quo of the gem and jade industry in Nanyang. The purpose is to find out the basic ideas of Nanyang gem and jade industry, and seize the opportunity to effectively promote the development of Nanyang gem and jade culture industry. The development countermeasures of the gem and jade industry in Nanyang area were explored, and the realistic basis and constraints were found. The key points include opening up regional environment and establishing interconnection, promoting the development mode of combining jade travel integrating tourism, and changing traditional industrial layout, exploring the gem and jade industry gathered, integrating regional advantage resources and establishing an open platform, strengthening personnel training, attracting and retaining talents, promoting technology innovation, strengthening the industrial spread and exchange, strengthening industry communication and communication, developing electronic commerce and so on.
