黑龙江穆棱宝石级锆石的宝石学特征及热处理
Gemmological Characteristic and Heat Treatment of Gem-Quality Zircon from Muling, Heilongjiang Province

摘要: 利用宝石学基本测试方法,对黑龙江穆棱新生代玄武岩中宝石级锆石的宝石学性质进行了测试。测试结果表明,宝石级锆石晶体形态发育较为完整,多发育四方柱和四方双锥;颜色多为褐红色和深红色,少见无色和浅黄色,其中,无色和浅黄色锆石样品在短波下呈强橙色荧光,其他颜色锆石的荧光呈惰性;根据统计,锆石的粒度在4×2×2~17×6×5 mm,折射率较高,大于常规折射仪测试范围,原石光泽多为弱玻璃光泽至油脂光泽,经抛光后呈亮玻璃光泽至亚金刚光泽,透明—半透明,相对密度为4.70~4.90。锆石包裹体分为四类:原生固态包裹体、同生气液包裹体、次生包裹体和非物质型包裹体(色带)。选择部分钻石样品进行热处理(氧化条件),颜色得到了明显的改善,颜色成因主要与放射性元素造成的晶格缺陷以及变价元素密切相关。Abstract: With the help of the conventional gemmological testing methods, this paper studied the gemmological characteristics of gem-quality zircon found in alluvia of Tertiary alkali basalt deposits associated with Cenozoic basalts from Muling, Heilongjiang Province and heat treatment of zircon was optimized. The gem-quality zircons, generally colourless to reddish brown, transparent to semitransparent, have well euhedral and tetragonal prism and tetragonal dipyramid are well developed. The colourless and yellowish zircon samples show strong orange fluorescence under short wave. Refractive indexes are generally higher than the test scope of gemmological refractometer, which lead to the samples have vitreous luster to semi adamantine luster after fine polishing. Inclusions can be divided into four categories: Primary solid inclusions, syngenetic two-phase inclusions, secondary inclusions along fractures and immateriality inclusions. After heat treatment, the colour of the zircon megacrysts have been significantly improved, which can increase the application value of zircon. The mechanism of coloration of zircon megacrysts should be closely related to lattice defect caused by radioactive elements and valence elements.
