Jewelry Design in the Theory of Yin-Yang and Five Elements of Culture Study and Application

As the development of Chinese jewelry industry, jewelry design begins to become very vital.In order to inherit native culture from different districts, designers can design individuation jewelry based on Chinese traditional culture.In this paper, firstly, a systematic study on the origins and philosophy of Yin-Yang and Five Elements was carried out, which has a great aesthetic influence on Chinese jewelry design.Then a new jewelry design was discussed approach to Yin-Yang and Five Elements.With the help of Yin-Yang and Five Elements, designers may consider the patterns, colours and materials in the unified way,and integrate these philosophic ideas into the design of modern jewelry so as to enhance the trend of personalized and high-class products.
