3D Gemstone Image Grabbing System Based On Single-View Camera

In this paper,the method of using single camera to achieve the three-dimensional stereopsis is investigated based on current technology and product and a new approach is also proposed.In this paper,the author analyzes the 3D display mode based on the binocular stereo vision,makes 3D graphs by picking up the key pixels of gemstones' photo with the help of digital image processing,develops the software "Gem View" and hardware of gemstones' 3D image grabbing system and conducts the experiment to collect and view the rough gemstones' 3D image.As is shown by the experiment that 3D gemstone grabbing system based on single-view camera would play an important role in gemstones' viewing and electronic commerce.
